At the start of the Trial, 4 Hooks in the environment are changed into Scourge Hooks:
- The Auras of these Scourge Hooks are highlighted in white.
Start the Trial with 4 Token.
Whenever a Survivor is hooked onto a Scourge Hook for the first time, Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance consumes -1 Token and applies the following effects:
- Causes the Generator with the most progression to explode, damaging it.
- Instantly regresses the Damaged Generator by 10/15/20 % of its total Progression.
- Causes the Damaged Generator to start regressing afterwards.
- Causes all Survivors repairing the Damaged Generator to scream.
- This does not trigger a Loud Noise Notification.

- After hooking a Survivor, all Survivors who are at least 60/50/40 metres away from that Hook have their Aura revealed to you for 5 seconds.

The Auras of damaged Generators are highlighted based on their current state:
- White Aura: The Generator is currently regressing.
- Yellow Aura: The Generator stopped regressing due to Survivor-intervention.
- This effect lasts for 8/12/16 seconds, after which the Generator Aura returns to its default colour.
- Increases the audible range of all noises related to the Repair interaction by +8 metres.
Performing the Damage Generator action on a Generator triggers the following effects:
- Randomly selects up to 4 additional Generators that will also start regressing.
- Triggers a difficult Skill Check for all Survivors currently repairing them.

- Increases the Repel duration for Swarmed Survivors by +0.5 seconds.
- Reduces the Cool-down time of Birds of Torment by -0.5 seconds after launching Dire Crows.
Unlocks potential in your Aura-reading ability:
- The Auras of cleansed Totems are revealed to you in white.
- 1 Token: Reduces the Action speeds for Healing and Repairing by -20 %.
- 2 to 5 Tokens: Increase the strength of the Action Speed penalty by a stackable 1/2/3 % per Token, up to a maximum of 24/28/32 %.
- Survivors cursed by Hex: Pentimento see the Auras of Rekindled Totems within 16 metres.
- Blocks all Rekindled Totems for the remainder of the Trial.
The Hex Effects persist until the Hex Totem is either blessed or cleansed by a Survivor, disabling it for the remainder of the Trial.

If there is still a Dull Totem in the environment, Hex: Fortune's Fool lights a Hex Totem whenever you hook a Survivor for the first time, cursing them with its Hex Effects.
- Inflicts the Oblivious Status Effect.
- Blocks the Hex Totem for all other Survivors for 90 seconds.
- Blocked Hex Totems cannot be cleansed or blessed by Survivors.
- This does not affect the Cursed Survivor.
